Christine Sinclair 185!
Canada Soccer’s Women’s National Team Captain Christine Sinclair has made history becoming the all-time international goal scoring record holder with her 185th international goal during the Concacaf Women’s Olympic Qualifying Championship.
Sinclair scored two goals in Canada’s opening win against St. Kitts & Nevis in Group B action. There are eight teams in the tournament with two qualifying for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. Canada will face Jamaica on February 1 and Mexico on February 4 as they attempt to advance to the Semi-Finals on February 7 and earn their spot to Toyko 2020. All of Canada’s matches will be shown LIVE on OneSoccer and via Rogers free-to-air Digital TV Channel 368 and Ignite TV Channel 430.
Ahead of the Olympic qualification, Canada Soccer began a #Sincy185 social media campaign and we’d like to thank you for your efforts to support Christine on your own social and digital media channels. We’d also like to encourage you to continue to show support for this monumental achievement.
The #Sincy185 campaign looks to unite Canadians and the global football community in the conversation across social media and begin a conversation about what Christine Sinclair means to women’s football, to football in general, and to Canadians.
Please add your voice. Share your thoughts, a memory, or photo/video and join us in celebrating this extraordinary milestone. In addition, please feel free to share the tournament broadcast promo graphics listed below.
Also, we encourage you to engage with Canada Soccer’s content to celebrate this monumental accomplishment with a retrospective video, hero reel, highlight reel, and more on our social channels with the hashtag #Sincy185.
